GO2GREEN – CAN WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY RECYCLING CANS, YOU BET WE CAN !

It’s that time of year again, time to make a pact to do more to protect and preserve the environment. With World Environment Day on June 5th just around the corner, it’s time to launch a recycling campaign either in your office or in your own home.

By recycling Aluminium Cans we can save our precious natural resources whilst at the same time considerably reducing the carbon emissions from the raw aluminium production process. Recycling produces significant cost savings over the production of new aluminium cans even when the cost of collection, separation and recycling are taken into account. Over the long term, even larger national savings are made when the reduction in the capital costs associated with landfills; mines and international shipping of raw aluminium are considered.

Start collecting your cans and get ready to count how many you have recycled by dropping off your recycling at the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) Can Collection Drive 2009 on Thursday May 28th 2009. With just under 2 months to go, how many cans can you save?

The top collectors of this drive and the overall campaign will be recognized during EEG’s annual Prize Giving Ceremony on World Environment Day. All other participants of the drive and campaign will receive certificates.
